The Firefly Experience: Weddings

We understand that you have a lot of options when it comes to selecting a wedding videography company. We’d like to tell you a little bit about the Firefly Experience; what you will receive from us if you choose us to capture your wedding day:

1. We are videographers who love capturing weddings and providing final keepsake videos that let you relive the day as it happened. We are very passionate about what we do, and we feel very lucky to do what we do!
2. We are a male/female videographer team: Maurice and Carrie. We’re the proud owners, and we do all the work ourselves, from the filming, to the editing of your wedding videos, and also the designing of your DVDs, Blu-rays, etc. We know how to work together to produce the best results!
3. We always shoot with two videographers – Carrie and Maurice. Two manned cameras means you aren’t risking a stationary camera set up during your ceremony or reception that can easily be blocked, moved, etc.
4. A photographer captures a moment in time, and many can be posed moments. Some videographers also do posed shots for their use, but we don’t. We capture the true movement of your wedding day. Everything you see on your highlight and full feature films will be as it happened.
5. We do not come in with huge equipment; our cameras are small and unassuming. We do this because it’s our job to be in the background and ideally we don’t want to be noticed. We do not bring in lighting equipment, as we don’t want to interfere with the mood you’ve created for your wedding ceremony & reception. Our cameras have great internal sensors that allow us to shoot well even in dark situations, and we utilize a software called Neat Video to edit out as much of the “noise” as possible so you get a better clarity in your final films.
6. We provide unobtrusive audio capture through the use of several devices, including:
   1. A wireless Bluetooth mic for your ceremony, which is small and can fit inside a vest or jacket pocket so your vows are captured clearly.
   2. Two Zoom audio recorders, used during your ceremony & reception. They can be plugged into a sound system supplied by the venue or DJ, or they can be placed in key areas to  pick up vows, readings, musicians, etc.
   3. Two small shotgun microphones that attach to our cameras and are used throughout the day.
7. We will show your entire ceremony in your full feature film, along with your key reception events. There are no special effects or music overlays during the ceremony footage unless you request them.
8. When we cover a reception, we don’t just provide you with quick highlights set to music. You’ll see the speeches, the first dance, parent dances, the cutting of the cake, and the bouquet and garter tosses, along with any other unique events you may have, in their entirety.
9. We can cover not only your ceremony and reception, but also your prep, first look, pre-or-post-ceremony photo shoot, send-off, etc. We have several packages for couples to choose from to fit a variety of needs.
10. We work as a team to make sure your Firefly experience is a positive one! From working with you prior to the wedding to make sure we are covering everything appropriately, to the music selection, to the video editing, we work together throughout the whole process to make sure you get the best experience possible from start to finish!
