Firefly Productions: Our Story
We (Maurice & Carrie) first met when we were 19 years old, working at a new movie theater in Batavia, Illinois. Our lives eventually took us to different parts of the country, but we stayed the best of friends. In 2012, we found ourselves living in the same city (Cincinnati), and it wasn't long before we launched Firefly Productions, named after the beautiful fireflies we both loved watching & capturing in our youth. It was also the start of something new for us personally, which led to our own wedding in November 2020 (in which our brothers were our videographers for the day, because we obviously had to have video).
Based in Union, Kentucky, we've captured over 350 weddings in Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan & West Virginia. We absolutely love that we have a job that brings happiness and gives something meaningful to others.
When we're not capturing a wedding day or editing all the footage, we're huge travelers & history lovers. We're also all about taking the back roads, which have led us to some very memorable sights & experiences. In her spare time, Carrie has started a new YouTube channel called The Civil War Project, which highlights historical places, people & events from that time period. In his spare time, Maurice is working on an animated series that pays homage to Flash Gordon. We lost our sweet puppy, Nym, a few years ago, and couldn't bare to replace her. We are, however, looking to adopt a kitty in the near future, so if you have one...
